Galway is often considered to be the 'Cultural Capital of Ireland', and is world renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations and events.
I drove up from Limerick to Galway. It took me around 1 hr 38 min for the distant of 108.96 KM. Woa! How do I know the time and distant so accurately? Thanks to http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/routes/route.asp.In this web site you can use the Route Planner to plan almost every journey possible in Ireland. What a great web site! The instructions given by this website is fool-proof. :)
Architecture
For me, the most prominent buidling in Galway, is the Galway Cathedral.
With the jade green doom, it stands majestically in the city of Galway.

Galway Cathedral is also knowns as The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas. How cool is that!
St. Nicholas' Church
Not as big as the Galway Cathedral, St. Nicholas' Chruch is an interesting place to visit as well. This church is one of the oldest parish churches in Ireland. It has been a place of worship since the 14th Century!

What interested me is not the building but what inside the building. Apart from a worship place, this church is apparently used for many other activities as well. When I was there, I was lucky enough to see an ART exhibition.
Two of the beautiful art piece inside St. Nicholas.
Take a visit to St.Nicholas, you won't regret it. Make it on a Sunday, b'coz Galway busiest market is just outside St.Nicholas gate.
